DIY Network Features Rubber-Cal’s Eco-Sport Tiles in “Run My Renovation"

Rubber-Cal Inc. will be featuring its products on DIY Network’s hit television show “Run My Renovation,” currently in its fourth season that premiered earlier this year on August 16. Rubber-Cal’s outdoor rubber flooring can be seen on an episode that takes place in the latter end of the season.

The show, which made its debut in 2010, selects lucky homeowners and travels to their home to perform a complete renovation of one room or area of their house—the kitchen, the living room, then den, or even the patio—free of charge and free of responsibility. The only catch, which makes for an interesting television experience, is that American television viewers and visitors of www.DIYnetwork.com will select the products that they want to see used in the room’s makeover. Whichever products win the popular vote will be used, forcing the homeowners to accept the decisions of the viewers. This is both a TV program and social web tool that molds the reality show.

“Run My Renovation” is the first ever interactive home makeover reality series. While providing some insight into the vast world of home renovation, the show is also fun because it includes viewers and incorporates them into the experience of the renovation by allowing them to have a hand in selecting the results of each episode. Hosted by independent contractor John DeSilvia and model Joannie Dodds, the show has been largely successful at creating both a television and internet audience.

In the episode featuring Rubber-Cal’s product, viewers had the opportunity to select from three flooring options to be used in the renovation of a patio area. The winner was Rubber-Cal’s 3/4-inch Terra-Cotta colored “Eco-Sport” interlocking rubber tiles, one of many eco-friendly, recycled rubber products offered by the firm.

Rubber-Cal’s products have been featured in many other successful reality television shows, such as “The Biggest Loser,” “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” and “WWE’s Tough Enough.” Rubber-Cal Inc., located in Orange County, California, has been specializing in recycled rubber products and has provided many options for residential, commercial, and industrial rubber flooring needs since 1994.
